  Estilo Salon

Tango danced in the salon, in an elegant manner, close together but both dancers remain in their own axes and dance without lifting their feet from the ground (in other words not using gauchos, sacadas, boleos etc.)

  Estilo Milonguero

Tango danced in the so-called ‘close embrace’, both dancers sharing the same axes, using simple movements that can be danced while moving between many other couples (in a crowded salon). What makes this style so special is the connection of the couple and the musicality of the dancers.

  Estilo Canyengue

The ‘tango canyengue’ is the old style that was danced in the ‘conventillos’ . It is a style in 8x4 rhythm, outstanding for it’s cadence and funniness. It’s most important characteristic is the musicality, because in order to dance it with precision it is necessary to always stay on the beat, stepping precisely on the rhythm. For this reason, ‘tango canyengue’ is the most authentic style of popular tango argentine.
