  Etnográfico Ambrosetti

The Museo Etnográfico (Ethnographic Museum), which was created in 1904 by the School of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Buenos Aires, has a wide variety of collections, displayed in an immpressive arrangement where the beauty of the objects is combined with educational features in an interesting exhibition. The archeological materials include objects from the Patagonia and Northwestern Argentina, and pre-columbian Andean ceramics and fabrics. In addition to the objects from Argentina, the ethnographical collections include objects from the indigenous societies of North America, African carvings, an important set of pieces from Oceania and some Oriental pieces. In the back rooms across the large and bright patio, there is a library that includes valuable information on these topics. It is open on afternoons from Tuesday to Friday.
