Marcela Andrea Soto Caro from chilena (February 2015)

first off, the location is excellent. i fell in love with San Telmo instantly being in this street corner. the locals in that neighborhood are lovely, full of character, and genuine. in a week\'s time, i felt like i was living as one of them. i miss the cafe (Origen) around the corner… the laundromat that charges $2.80 for washing, drying, folding… the hiphop clothing shop.. the ridiculously delicious bakery.. and supermarket... you have everything you need within half a block and you\'re in walking distance to many excellent bars, cafes, and eateries. take the time to explore on foot and you will be rewarded. coffee town in the mercado has the best coffee. subway station is further than i thought but not unreasonable. if you intend to take a cab to places (which is so, so affordable) you have nothing to worry about. the staff is nice. Sara is the sweetest lady, and Santiago (whom i think is the only one that communicates in fluent English) is patient and fast to respond to emails. there are small issues here and there (e.g. toilet paper quality, cleanliness, requested extra blanket not delivered) that definitely would benefit from an improvement, however nothing really seriously bothered me. if you are looking for sparkling clean hotel type of accommodation this is definitely not for you. this place is old, squeaky, and there are places around the apartment that you don\'t want to inspect too carefully. but if you\'re looking for a unique, rustic experience with character, this is it. tips: it\'s cheaper to book through their case san telmo website.

What a beautiful place to stay in Buenos Aires! The location is perfect - close to the heart of San Telmo and surrounded by great transport links. The house is a peaceful haven, with beautiful decor, a magnificent garden and a fantastic parrilla! Mercedes was lovely and even joined me for a small parrilla in the garden on my last evening. Heavenly. You will not regret staying here!

A great place to stay in B.A. The apartment is very old (120 years) but full of charm. The neighbourhood is nice, authentic and friendly. And above all there is Mercedes, with her huge heart, goodwill, natural kindness

We spent a month in the casa rosada, and had a very happy experience there. The apartment has a spacious and airy living area; the kitchen is super-compact but it is easy to eat out in San Telmo so that was no inconvenience for us. The bedroom is comfortable and it was a huge bonus to have two bathrooms, one of which has an excellent shower. Our only criticism is that, because the apartment is the first one in the house, it does suffer from the noise of everyone else coming and going. Quite a lot of visitors struggled with the multiple locks on the front door, which was quite annoying! The location of the apartment is excellent, everything we needed for daily life was within a 5 minute walk, from the laundrette to the market. Also impressed by the wifi connection, which was rock-solid, better than in Europe! Thanks also to the host for taking us to tango; a great fun evening!

I had to find a place in San Telmo at the last minute, and for only a couple of days. The apartment was very pretty, very central and convenient, very comfortable, and very secure. Host was extremely helpful and understanding when my check-in time changed and I had to come in quite late at night, for which I am really thankful. They made check-in and check-out very easy, and the whole stay was quite pleasant. It really is a pretty place, too, very San Telmo-esque - and let me tell you, San Telmo is (in my opinion) the very BEST neighborhood in Buenos Aires to stay. It's the oldest neighborhood in the city, so its cobbles and colonial buildings give it tremendous character, and this apartment is located VERY close to Plaza Dorrego, the heart of the city (and its wonderful Sunday market and Sunday-night milonga). There are wonderful boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and parrillas within MOMENTS, walking, including a great cafe (Origen) right on the corner and a really beloved parilla (El Desnivel) just up on Defensa, a stone's throw away. Unlike the big skyrise apartments of Recoleta, for example, San Telmo really has a neighborhood character and feel. And it's very safe - as a woman traveling alone, I never once felt uncomfortable. And it's a well-located apartment and neighborhood - the Subte and busses are about 3-4 blocks away on Av. Paseo Colon, and the taxis come to the corner constantly. (Though most importantly - San Telmo is within easy, pleasant walking distance of pretty much everything, though if you're feeling lazy or unsure, the taxi ride to or from just about anything will be cheap - rarely more than 4-5 USD.) Good luck, and thank you again for having me!

For three weeks we found our home in San Telmo as if it was our own. Stylish, nice and our favorite Restaurant 60m to the right, where we eat with the local people. The owner very helpful and cordially.
Rebecca Bagnieschi from Australia (April 2013)
We loved the colonial loft apartment. The owner is a friendly and helpful host. Great location, clean and quiet at night.

Britta Lumma from Germany (February 2013)
The time in the apartment was great. It is located in the heart of San Telmo. You can reach nice cafes, bars and restaurants in just a minute. The special thing about this rooms, it is an oasis with a great garden, pool and a wonderful host!! The owner is incredibly helpful and a wonderful person. She took me to a lot of great Tango Places and classes and helped me with all my little questions. If you want to go to Buenos Aires, stay at this Apartment!!
Amanda Taylor from Australia (February 2013)
Great apartment with lots of character close to all the San Telmo action. We arrived Sunday afternoon and were able to enjoy the free tango show in the plaza just down the street. The owner was great. We had an unfortunate experience with a thief (not in the apartment, it's very safe and secure) and the owner accompanied us to the police station and spent over an hour interpreting for us. Amazing service. There's some great cafes and a decent sized market within a block. Easy taxi rides to lots of attractions including La Boca, pink palace etc.
Paul Newfield from Australia (December 2012)
Lovely apartment in a great location. The shared pool and patio area is a particularly nice oasis in busy, hot summer BA. The owner was a wonderful host, even inviting us to a New Year's Eve party at her apartment.
Jacqui Green from England (October 2012)
If you are looking for the best experience in BA stay here! The owner has created an amazing space in San Telmo that is truly unique. Her flare for design, style and fun welcomes you from the minute you arrive at Casa San Telmo! The property itself is situated in the heart of San Telmo, the bohemian hub of BA. Amazing antique shops, restuarants, vintage clothes and the famous San Telmo Sunday market is on your door step. Our stay here was and will always be one of our best memories of our 11 month world trip. The property was clean, comfortable, homely and safe. The owner was a perfect host and assisted us with good restuarant reccommendations and also a little tango lesson to!
Maggie Powell from Australia (September 2012)
If you're wanting the experience of living like a Porteño, this is the place to stay! This place has everything you need. The owner is a fabulous person and host. She is also a tanguera so if you do the tango or are wishing to venture into it, she is very accommodating as she loves the tango. The courtyard is beautiful and perfect for sitting in on a beautiful day. As a cat lover, it was also amazing to have Sandro the house cat come and visit for cuddles. I will not hesitate to stay in this lovely apartment again on my return to Buenos Aires. Very close to everything-especially the wonderful Mercado de San Telmo which has the best coffee in BA,not to mention beautiful produce if you choose to cook your meals at home. Everything you need is close to this apartment. I loved my time here. Gracias!
Clara Moro from Brasil (July 2012)
We love our stay at this apartment. The place is very nice, beautifully furnished, a complete house. It is a very central location in San Telmo, next to numerous markets, cafes, restaurants and the famous feria de san Telmo. It is also very easy to take buses from here to any interesting location in the city. the owner was very nice to us. We had a problem with the flight and arrived at dawn, yet she received us very friendly. We stayed for thirteen days in this house and only once had a problem with hot water, which was quickly resolved by the owner. The photos are in agreement with the real home, only the bathroom is not as nice as the picture. I strongly recommend a stay here and I'll come back for sure!
Caroline e Federico from Brasil e Uruguay (July 2012)
Foi uma excelente estadia, creio que no ponto mais estrategico de San Telmo, perto da praça, de mercados, padarias!! Gostei muito do apartamento, tem realmente tudo que necessita para uma boa estadia! Abraços

Stayed at this apartment for a month and LOVED it! So close to everything, wonderful courtyard and pool. Plaza Dorrego is only a block away. Thanks so much to the owner!!!
Ken Craig from Canada (December 2011)
This place is just as pictured, cute, part of original old house, timber brick ceilings from 1880's. It's Rustic, but clean, good use of space and arty details. Location is perfect, one block from Plaza Dorrego,cafes,mini-marts,police station, starbucks, food, subway, on quiet street. Pool is good for dipping. the owner was helpful upon arrival and departing.
Pasquale Bellini from England (May 2011)
I absolutely adored my stay in this beautiful apartment, and would say to anybody thinking of staying in San Telmo that they simply must stay in this amazing colonial house. I spent a week here with my girlfriend and will definitely be coming back. The apartment is stunning and takes you back in time, the service is impeccable and we really felt that we got a unique taste of what it would be like to live in San Telmo all year round. Don't waste your time anywhere else!
Emma from New Zealand (April 2011)

Casa San Telmo is beautiful and in a great location, close to many great cafes restaurants, bars, gallaries and the wonderful San Telmo Faire on Sunday. I stayed here for three weeks and in Septemeber and the owner could not have been more accomodating. She really made me feel at home in Buenos Aires and the next time I am in Buenos Aires I will be sure to stay at Casa San Telmo.
